This past weekend was the second EU Cup event for the 2012 season. A majority of the PS teams missed out on racing in the season opening event in Bolonga because of a clash of dates with the Berlin Half Marathon. So our three skaters; Felix Rijhnen, Scott Arlidge and Luisa Agudelo were keen to open up their EU Cup accounts. Felix in particular was keen because he is the defending EU Cup overall long distance champion.

The racing was held in the southern Hungarian city of Szeged, on a brand new 170m track. Our PS skaters would face their toughest competition from the Italian team; Ferrara Inline.

 

Luisa Agudelo comfortably won three events, the 500m, and 5,000 points, and then the 10,000m elimination. The PS boys had it a little bit tougher, but Felix and Scott controlled the front of both the long distance events to finish 1st and 2nd. Felix backed it up to take the win in the 500m with some nice tight passing.
