The shell of the Double X racing shoe features our Hollow Tube Technology. The fundamental value of hollow constructions is weight reduction. Hollow tubes positioned between the two mounting blocks of the carbon shell are embedded in a carbonfibre matrix. The structured surface of the bottom adds extra strength to the overall shell construction and enables us to reduce the layup of the carbonfibre matrix. The result is a lighter shell construction. All Powerslide and Core Racing shells are heat mouldable due to a special epoxy that is used in our shell construction. SHMR is also known as Super Heat Mouldable Resin enables us to heatmould the boot at any spot of the shoe as many times as needed.
Our PU nanoleather upper material is soft but very strong and resistant. This outstanding material wraps around the foot like a sock. The cuts around the eyelets support the wrap around effect. We call this effect Sekond Skin Fit (SSF). The high quality microfibre that we use for the inside lining is very strong but yet soft to the skin for a nice comfy feeling.
Our 3D anatomical padding is placed strategically around the ankle and tendon area of the shoe to assure the most secure ankle and heel fit. The new speedfoam used for the padding is another advanced material used in our racing shoes. This foam is soft, but not too soft to absorb energy yet very comfortable. Step in and feel comfortable from very first minute you wear the boot. The speedfoam padding does not take away space inside the shoe where you would need it, but fills up the empty spaces to give more comfort and control. Poron Urethans were originally designed for medical purposes to provide custom foam cushioning and comfort which is essential. We chose a slow recovery urethane for our racing shoes – a unique custom contouring material. This material rebounds slowly when compressed, which results in a custom fit during each use. Features of Poron are:
shock absorbing to protect against impacts
breathable to keep feet dry and cool
maintains cushioning for maximum performance
lightweight and flexible for continuous comfort
This makes the boot more comfortable than any other boot.
To ensure a good fit the Double-X skate uses waxed laces and a “Icon” micro adjustable ratchet buckle, which holds your foot perfectly in place and giving the skater a nice supportive and safe feeling, which is needed to optimize the power transfer.
The Vi 12,6” 3x125mm frame is the mother of all 125mm frames that introduced 125 to the world. A high performance aircraft Aluminium extruded frame, lightweight and very stiff. The combination of the across slot in the frame and the along slot in our boots is called the X-Slot Mounting. This system enables the skater to adjust the boot-frame setup without any dead spots according to his skating style and preferences.
Matter has worked hard in the past on the wheel development. Every wheel of the collection has been tweaked to get the extra percentage out of every PU-compound to make the wheels even faster, and more grippier than before. Many different batches of wheels have been poured, tested and reworked and tested again under real race conditions. Different hubs and different technologies have been thrown into the pot to find the right mix. The victories of the entire team at various race events throughout the past few years proofed that the hard work was worth it. Thanks to a great team work we now proudly present the new collection of Matter wheels that is already used for the speed skate collection from Powerslide and Core racing.
